Collaborator
Profile
Asian American Journalist's
Association
Each month for the next year, ACDC
will profile one of the many organization which we partner
or collaborate with to accomplish our mission. This monrh
we we feature The Asian American Journalists Association.
AAJA is a 2,000+ member nonprofit organization which
recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, works to promote
better news coverage of Asian American communities and
issues. Increasing fair and accurate media portrayals is a
critical component of AAJA's mission, and the Media Access
Workshop makes use of AAJA's human resources toward that
end. The goal of this AAJA-New England program is to help
Boston-area Asian community leaders augment their public
communication skills and to facilitate connections between
local journalists and new community sources.

ACTION! comes to Chinatown
ACDC invites 2007 ACTION! Resident
forum to Chinatown
Two
years ago, ACDC together with dozens of affordable housing,
transportation and environmental groups from the region
formed the ACTION! coalition to advocate for affordable
housing and transit justice. The coalition has created
principles and strategies that can guide development for
securing affordability for the long term and achieving
equitable transit oriented development in the Commonwealth.
The coalition is working with both legislators and community
residents to influence the policy change.
ACDC invited the coalition to host its 2007 Resident Forum
in Boston's Chinatown this May. We encourage leaders and
residents of Asian communities to come and join residents
across the region to discuss the issues affecting our
communities:
· What strategies can we use to make housing truly
affordable?
· How do we halt the patterns of gentrification that
displace the very people who fight to improve our
communities?
· How can we ensure that new development is sustainable,
fair, and equitable?
ACTION! Forum Details:
Saturday, May 12, 2007, 9:30 AM - 1:30PM
Asian CDC, 38 Oak St., Boston.

Breakfast and lunch will be served. Childcare and
