APA Heritage Month

American Masters Premiere of "Hollywood Chinese"

Throughout May, WGBH celebrates Asian Pacific American Heritage Month on television, radio and the Web through Telling Our Stories, an initiative building on WGBH's year-round commitment to create and broadcast programs that reflect the ethnic and cultural diversity of the communities we serve. The highlight of this year's programming is the American Masters Premiere of "Hollywood Chinese," a comprehensive look at Chinese American in 20th century Hollywood.

WGBH will host a preview screening of this film on Thursday, May 21 from 6:30-8:30pm. The evening will feature a sneak peek of the film followed by a panel discussion with Boston Globe film critic, Ty Burr; University of Massachusetts Boston Director of the Asian American Studies department, Dr. Peter Kiang; and film and television actor, Albert M. Chan. This event is free and open to the public. RSVP is required at www.wgbh.org/events.

I never even knew there was

I never even knew there was such a month, though I think it's a fantastic idea. Given the strong part the community has played in the development of America, it's only right they should recognised.
