Free Legal Business Services Workshop 12/7

12/07/2009 - 5:25pm
12/07/2009 - 6:00pm

The Chinatown Human Development Studio is hosting a FREE resource workshop at the Storefront Library, at 640 Washington Street in Boston.

The Belin Economic Justice Project, an initiative of the Lawyers' Committee, uses the tools of business law to promote sustainable community development. Three main services are provided free of charge through partner law firms to target communities: Legal workshops educate the community about business law issues that could, and likely are, affecting them, Legal clinics provide opportunities for entrepreneurs and small business owners to talk one-on-one with experienced business lawyers about their new or existing business, and finally, pro bono representation of qualifying businesses provides business legal services for discrete business law issues. This workshop will focus on how to bring these services to Boston’s vibrant Chinese community. Prior to this workshop, the Lawyer’s Committee will also present its work on discrimination cases for individuals.

Presentations and resources will be in English and Cantonese.
