Here are some ideas of how your company can support ACDC at little or no cost to your company!
FUNDRAISING DRIVE
In many Asian cultures, gifts are given in red envelopes as a sign of appreciation, love and good fortune. Promote this spirit of generosity among your employees by organizing a special Red Envelope fundraising drive at your Thanksgiving Day Celebration, Holiday Party, Birthday Event, Chinese New Year get-together or any special occasions that you celebrate. Encourage your employees to make their generous contribution in a red envelope provided by ACDC, and they can also reach out to friends, family or business associates to raise funds.
HOST A BENEFIT SOCIAL
Invite your employees, business associates and their guests to an evening of cocktails and entertainment at a local restaurant and accept donations at the door to benefit ACDC or one of its programs. Our staff and volunteers can be on hand to make a short presentation about ACDC’s work in the community.
ADD A SILENT AUCTION TO A
PRE-EXISTING EVENT
Include a themed raffle or silent auction benefiting ACDC adds another fun way to raise much needed support at your annual picnic or annual dinner.
TAKE A TOUR OF CHINATOWN
Invite your employees to join ACDC under the Chinatown Gate to kick off a guided walking tour that features the history of the neighborhood and explores contemporary issues facing today’s residents. End up at ACDC for refreshments and a Q & A session or view parts of the documentary we made about Chinatown.
POINT OF SALE DONATION DRIVE
Ask your cashiers to sell coupon books to your customers for a small donation to help poor families find affordable housing. Recognize their gift with a small post-it note shaped like a house posted on a special board or wall, displaying the good work that you are making possible!
PLAN A VOLUNTEER DAY
Chinatown is a great location for public service days for your employees. Give your employees corporate tee shirts and work with ACDC staff to coordinate a litter patrol or spruce up the facade of local businesses or low-income homes. The public will see your employees at work and know you are a good corporate citizen.

PUBLICITY CAMPAIGN
Help promote ACDC’s mission through your corporate newsletter, website or promotional materials. Tell us about your publicity idea and we’ll be glad to explore co-branding opportunities.
ANNUAL CORPORATE PLEDGE
When your company makes an annual pledge to fund ACDC programs, you will receive recognition for your charitable involvement and build a positive public image. You will also build a sense of community with your employees and promote teambuilding and morale. The pledge allows your organization to contribute with a credit card or check on a scheduled basis.
EMPLOYEE GIVING AND
MATCHING GIFTS
Offer your employees matching gift opportunities to encourage the spirit of philanthropy and support ACDC. For example, you can match one dollar for every dollar which your employee donates.
CORPORATE VOLUNTEERS
Encourage your employees to donate their time, skills and knowledge to assist the ACDC to organize special events.
IN-KIND GIFTS
Your company can consider donating products or services to help support our operations or fundraising efforts. In-kind gifts can include supplies and equipment, such as computers, software, as well as business services. Most “in-kind donations” are tax deductible and your donation will be acknowledged in a letter for tax purposes.
GIFTS OF STOCK OR REAL ESTATE
This entitles your company or individual employee to a tax deduction for the market value of the donated stock or real estate. If the asset you wish to donate has been held for more than one year, you can avoid capital gains tax on any appreciation of the stock by donating the stock. Please notify the ACDC of your stock gift prior to the transaction so that we may alert our broker and ensure that your generosity is acknowledged accurately and promptly.

Send monthly bills or invoices to your customers? Include an ACDC-provided insert to let your customers know that you support charitable causes. Provide a coupon or incentive to encourage them to donate!
