A reception with gourmet dumplings and other Asian hors d’oevres will begin the evening at 6:00PM. Following the reception, a Chinese lobster dinner will be served with buffet-style options for dessert. Entertainment will be provided throughout the event including marimba and dance performances. The 19th floor location of K & L Gates will offer guests views of Chinatown, Boston, and beyond.
ACDC will present Rebecca Lee with the Caroline Chang Leadership Award, honoring Rebecca’s many charitable and civic contributions. Rebecca is a member of the Steering Committee for Ricesticks and Tea, Boston's only Asian food pantry. Her past roles include serving as a volunteer for the Chinatown Storefront Library, a Secretary and President of the Asian Lawyers Association of Massachusetts, a Northeast Regional Governor for the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, and a member of ACDC's Board of Directors. The Caroline Chang Leadership Award is named after current ACDC Board Advisor and former Board President Caroline Chang, who played an instrumental role in helping shape ACDC into the organization it is today.
“We are thrilled to honor Rebecca for her commitment to community development. Rebecca’s professional accomplishments are many and inspiring by themselves. What I find truly amazing about Rebecca is her quiet generosity and conscientious yet informal efforts to develop new leaders. She is a strong supporter not only of ACDC but of many organizations that serve our neighborhood” said ACDC’s Acting Executive Director, Janelle Chan.
Funds raised through the Gala will help ACDC continue to build affordable housing; provide homeownership and housing counseling; instill leadership capacity in Asian American youth, and create innovative educational and economic development programs.
